About The Wellwood Arms

Everything you’d expect from a great local pub

Located in the centre of Amble, just a short walk from the harbour, the Wellwood Arms has been at the heart of the local community since the mid-19th Century.

Originally built as a farmhouse for Link House Farm, one of the three farms which made up early Amble, the pub is one of the oldest buildings in the whole of the town! Records dating back as far as 1842 show that the farm was owned by a Mrs Maria Wellwood – a possible explanation for the pub’s name today!

Here at the Wellwood Arms, we have a choice of styled rooms and spaces to enjoy a quality food offering, along with a great selection of real cask ales, fabulous wines and a vast range of spirits available from the bar.

As well as serving up the best of traditional pub food that features reworked classic English dishes with creative & tasty touches, we also have a stunning daily carvery with a choice of delicious meats!

So whether you’re from near or far, want to park or stay, we can’t wait to welcome you.
